Kikuube Leaders Call for the Upgrade of Buhimba Health Centre III to IV Status

By John Bosco Tugume
Buhimba town council leaders are demanding government to upgrade Buhimba Health centre III to a health centre IV status for better health service delivery in the area.

This is in response to the overwhelming number of patients seeking services at the health facility, which is located in Buhimba town council.

Musa Mugisa, the chairman for Buhimba town council explains that the facility is on a strategic location on Hoima-Fort Portal high way, which makes it easily accessible by patients neighboring sub-counties of Buhimba, Bugambe, Kiziranfumbi among others.

The facility which has one main structure sits on over four acres of land. This leaders say is enough land to accommodate more structures.

Susan Kabasindi, the area female district councilor says the upgrade comes with its associated benefits like increased staffing, drugs, and structures among others which are of benefit to the citizens.

She claims that Buhimba town council and Buhimba sub-county lack a health centre four and strategically, Buhimba health centre beats other facilities.

She promises to present the issue to the district council once they resume council sessions.
