The recruitment of Local Defense Unit (LDU) personnel in Hoima City and district has ended successfully on Monday with 289 persons applying to fill the vacant positions.

Of the 289, 173 are from Hoima district according to Richard Tabaaro, the Hoima deputy RDC of which seven are females.
Tabaro however says some applicants did not meet the required criteria.

The Hoima Resident City Commissioner Samuel Kisembo says the exercise was peaceful and calm dding that successful applicants will be invited at the Masindi field artillery division for interviews.
