Four Kagadi Public Servants Arrested for Mismanagement of Covid-19 Funds

Four government officials have been arrested in Kagadi district over misuse of public funds meant to fight Covid-19.

Those arrested are Zaverio Nyakojo the accountant for Rugashari sub-county, Christopher Mubiru, the former sub-county chief Rugashari, one Bernard the sub-county chief for Kyakabadima and Ripen Asiimwe, the parish chief for Burora parish in Burora sub-county.

Meanwhile, Bernard Kaita, the former sub-county chief for Burora has been summoned to Police.
They were arrested after failing to present accountability for 35.8m the government sent to each of the 16 greater sub-counties of Kagadi district to fight covid-19.

The Kagadi Resident District Commissioner Lillian Ruteraho has vowed that whoever was involved in misuse of this money will have to refund it.
