The Kagadi Resident District Commissioner Lilian Ruteraho has intervened into a land wrangle that has seen two underage children left homeless in Namilyango cell in Kagadi town council.
The minors are Ivan Matovu and Catherine Karugi all below the age of 15 and grandchildren to the late Teopista Najuka, who was a resident in Namilyango cell in Kagadi town council.
The minors have told the RDC that their biological parents passed on five years ago and have since been staying with their grandmother the Late Najuka who died recently at the age of 72.
They allege that their grandmother left them a one acre piece of land but they were shked when their elder brothers Gilbert Kimbugwe 26 and Max Birungi 28 sold off the land and bought a car leaving them homeless.
The land was sold to a tycoon who has since set up a house.
Lilian Ruteraho, the Kagadi Resident District Commissioner who accompanied the minors to the disputed land says it’s quite unfortunate for the elders to cheat their young siblings.
She ordered for the immediate demolition of the newly constructed permanent house on the disputed land and summoned all parties to her office this week to settle the matter.
