Residents of Rubani-Kahika cell in Nalweyo town council, Kakumiro district are puzzled over a new cult that bars its followers from seeking medication.

Followers of Malachi Almighty God are not meant to seek medical attention from any health facility.
One of the followers one Asinansi Babirye, in her 50’s is “rotting alive” in her house after she declined to seek medical attention. Babirye according to residents has refused to speak what exactly she is suffering from but her body has wounds that are in a bad state.

The residents say they have for weeks asked the patient to seek medical attention but she refused saying her religion does not allow her to do so. Her family has also opposed the move to take her to hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, Vincent Kisembo, the Nalweyo town council mayor says he tried to engage health workers to treat Babirye from her home but still she refused the medication.
