Hoima City Health department has launched the COVID-19 accelerated Mass Vaccination Campaign in Hoima to boost the government plan of vaccinating 22 million people by the end of 2022.
The vaccination exercise seeks to address low vaccination coverage, slow utilization of vaccines, poor mobilization of the target population and handling emerging regional hotspots that continue to propagate the pandemic.
Launching the exercise at Hoima Taxi Park, the State minister of Bunyoro Affairs Jennifer Kaacha Namuyangu says that the mass vaccination campaign is intended to prepare the country and her economy for full re-opening in January.
