Missing Kagadi Teenager Found Dead

Police in Kagadi have recovered the body of an 18-year-old youth who went missing from their home over the weekend.

The deceased is Gerald Katusabe, a resident of Kyakadehe village in Pacwa town council in Kagadi district. He went missing from his parent’s home on Saturday and never returned home.

Veronica Tuhaise, the sister to the deceased told Uganda Radio Network in an interview on Monday that her brother left home on Saturday afternoon and went to Pacwa trading center but never returned home. They became suspicious and started searching for him in vain and later reported the matter to police.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson says Katusabe’s lifeless body was recovered lying in a pool of blood in a nearby bush in the same village on Sunday evening.

The body had deep cuts on the head and face, an indication that he could have been waylaid by yet unknown assailants who hacked him to death before dumping his lifeless body in the bush.

According to Hakiza, police rushed to the crime scene with a sniffer dog that later led detectives to the home of Mbabazi Alinaitwe, a resident of the same area who has since been arrested to help police with investigations.

She is being detained at Kagadi central police station.

The body of the deceased was picked by police who later delivered it to Kagadi General hospital for postmortem.
