Village Chairman Killed in Bar Brawl in Kagadi

The police in Kagadi is investigating the death of Namugongo C village chairperson in Buhumuliro sub-county, Kagadi district, whose body was recovered Thursday morning in a bush in his area.

The deceased has been identified as Geoffrey Byaruhanga.

The Buhuliro Sub County chairperson, Nteri Agubimana says the body of the deceased was discovered today morning by residents who were going to their farmlands.

Agubimana explains that Byaruhanga was on Wednesday night engaged in a bar fight with his village mates before he proceeded home.

It is alleged that while on his way home, he village chairman was attacked by the people he had fought with earlier who beat him to death and later dumped his body in a bush.

According to sources at Rugashari police station, one person identified as Deo Tumusiime has been arrested to help police with investigations.
