Police in Kibaale district is hunting for assailants who murdered a 35-year-old man.
Julius Allan Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson has identified the deceased as Ronald Twejuke a resident of Kikuube village in Mugarama Sub County in Kibaale district.
Hakiza explains that the deceased was on Saturday night lynched by an angry mob in Buroro village, Kyezimbira parish in Mugarama Sub County who suspected him of being a thief.
It is alleged that the man had gone to the neighbouring village to drink alcohol.
Hakiza says Deo Bulemu, the LCI chairperson for Buroro village reported the case of murder to police that rushed and picked the body for a postmortem before it was handed over to relatives for burial.
He adds that police has so far arrested one person in connection to the murder incident as they hunt for his accomplices.
He says the suspect will be charged with murder once investigations are complete.
