Three Masindi Hospital administrators are in trouble for failing to account for over Sh600 million.

The trio is Simon Baguma, the Masindi hospital administrator, Susan Kabonesa the hospital accountant and Felix Twinomugisha Rwehururu the medical superintendent.

Emmy Ngabirano, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Masindi wants the officials to provide accountability for the missing funds in three days.

Ngabirano wants the officials to account for Sh192 million for Result Based Financing (RBF), Sh376 million conditional grants for Primary Health Care and Sh28 million donor funds from Baylor Uganda, Sh62 million for fuel for e hospital ambulance and the money got from some hospital structures which were rented out to people for business purposes.

Ngabirano adds that failure to provide a satisfying accountability will cause a forensic audit, arrest and investigation into how the money was spent.

Ngabirano says the accountability which was presented by the officials lacked credibility and it couldn’t be owned by the Chief Administrative Officer and the political head.

Robert Abiya, the deputy CAO Masindi was also unhappy with his technical team saying what was presented was neither an income nor expenditure.

Cosmas Byaruhanga, the district chairperson expressed concern over the increasing cases of corruption and bribery among the civil servants.
